Intercultural Challenges in Evangelism and Discipleship for People on the Move Part 2 | Trust Formation and Time Orientation

May 10, 2022 at 4pm UTC

Intercultural obstacles emerge as challenges or restraining forces when the Majority World engages in global missions. For this next installment webinar, we will focus on the last two of the four, Trust Formation and Time Orientation. When we say we want to build a relationship with the community we want to engage, trust and time play significant roles. Trust is a concept we all understand but it is much more difficult to measure. Is time money? Or is time seen as an opportunity?

Practical Missional Lessons from the
Most Multinational Church in the World

July 16, 2022 at 3-4.30pm UTC

While there is much talk about missions from the Majority World to the Global North, the brutal truth is that many people from the Global South only end up being ‘chaplains’ of their own people groups in Western countries without penetrating the culture of their host nations. Ghanaians start Ghanaian churches in London, a Filipino or Korean pastor in New York is most likely shepherding other Filipinos or Koreans just like a Kenyan congregation in Paris will in all probability be full of East Africans, with the service even in Swahili! While there is real benefit to such chaplaincies, they fall far short of the cross-cultural mission potential, promise and even mandate of the Majority World. In this webinar, the founding pastor of the most multinational congregation in the world, Dr. Sam Owusu (a Ghanaian serving in Canada), will share his experience and train other Global Southerners in how to crack the code!

Africa to the Rest So Far.

September 17, 2022 at 3-4.30pm UTC

Africa is the most numerically Christian continent in the world today and the only continent simultaneously experiencing a growth spurt as well, doubling current youth numbers by 2080. As Perbi and Ngugi ask in their groundbreaking book, ‘Africa to the Rest,’ “Is it a mere coincidence that the current most numerically Christian continent is also the demographically youngest continent?” They categorically state that “‘African Christian youth’ may be the most powerful combination of words to affect the mission of God this century.” Come and hear from the horses’ own mouths as we host the authors to share their hearts about Africa’s untold history as well as her unique moment today in global mission. They shall share what novel pathways they have been trying to create so far, since they launched their work earlier this year, to ensure this magnificent moment becomes a memorable movement that floods the nations with the glory of God, from Africa to all unreached peoples and places.

Essentials of Disciple Making Movements

August 13, 2022 at 3-4.30pm UTC

It’s been over 2,000 years since Jesus gave us “the Great Commission” to change the world. Yet there are still 3.1 billion people on the planet, a third of us, who have not heard the gospel and because of cultural, religious, geographic or political reasons, are totally isolated from it. That used to be the story of the Bhojpuri people of northern India, “the graveyard of missionaries and missions,” until everything changed with Disciple Making Movements resulting in over 80,000 house of worship started and 2 million people become Christ’s followers!

The unprecedented migration of peoples globally today is our best opportunity to leave no one and no place behind if only we can accelerate ministries to internationals (from students to refugees) into MOVEMENTS—Disciple Making Movements and Church Planting Movements.

Victor John, our honorable speaker,  is one through whom God began this great Bhojpuri Breakthrough with. Come and glean the essentials of Disciple Making and Gospel Planting Movement from the horse’s own mouth and trust God for the same in every place and among every people still unreached.

Deep Mentoring for Accelerated Movements.

October 22, 2022 at 3-4.30pm UTC

The purpose of leadership is to build missional communities that advance the kingdom of God. To accomplish this in an accelerated manner in the form of disciple making movements and church planting movements among the remaining Unreached People Groups, requires an approach to deep mentoring of internationals in a manner that Kwiverr seems to have cracked the code for.

Come and learn about the Kwiverr Incubator that is being assembled to coach and train internationals as missional community planters. What is the biblically-informed and research-based four-part ‘Kwiverr Konstant’ in this 18-month formation? And who knows? Your insightful questions and comments just might contribute to refining the model and sharpening its missional edge for the sake of the wider kingdom of God.
